Introduction

Welcome to the 2009 OSCE update training programme.
Programme Aims

  • To update you on developments within exam practices from year to year.
  • To provide useful information regarding OSCE processes and examiner responsibilities
  • To provide a practice marking opportunity
  • To give you an opportunity to share experiences with your peers on the message board
  • To allow examiners to personalise their OSCE update by selecting the chapters in the programme that they find relevant.
  • If you are a relatively new examiner (or even if you are not) you may find the scenarios within the programme useful in preparing you for some of the situations you may encounter. If you are experienced you may chose to access the update on changes in exam practices and examiner responsibilities.

It is not mandatory to read every chapter of the course, however if you wish to receive a certificate of completion (worth 1 CPD point from the Royal College of Physicians-pending) you will need to complete the OSCE accessible from the menu above. On completion of the quiz you will be able to print off a certificate for your records.

If you would like to raise any examiner issues, or share your experience with others please post a comment on the discussion board accessible from the menu above.

You can access the course from the menu above and select the chapters you wish to view

If you have any questions that are not addressed in this programme you can email me on c.coulby@leeds.ac.uk, and I will be happy to assist any way I can.
